I’ve been watching a couple videos of David Marquet. He was a submarine captain that figured out a few things.

A couple of the great things I thought that were said are as follows:
People are not accountable to numbers; they’re not accountable to spreadsheets; they’re not accountable to some metric; they’re not accountable to some poster that the CEO puts on the wall. They are accountable to other people. And the closer the people are to them…the more accountability they feel.
People would come and say we have an amazing culture of teamwork…and I would say, we don’t have a culture of teamwork…what we have is a rule that you can’t say they.
